N.A.S.A.  stands for Natural Athlete Strength Association and it’s a single-ply equipment federation that was founded in 1990 by Rich Peters (OK). One of the reasons that N.A.S.A. is single-ply federation is because a lifter should use true strength to lift the weight, not by multi-ply equipment or superman suit.  The name originated from the Space Program because “the sky is the limit”.  N.A.S.A. is one of the largest, but best true drug-free federation in the world. What separates N.A.S.A. from other federations is that it’s a true lifter organization and lifters can talk on-line with any executive committee and officials too.

Powerlifting, Bench Press and Power Sports meets are held in these following states: CO, NM, AZ, OK, TX, KS, MO, IA, IL, WV, VA, PA, TN, OH, WI, KY.

N.A.S.A. has led powerlifting community with great events and programs with other federation trying to imitate, but never duplicated!  N.A.S.A. is the first drug-free organization to abandon the old method of drug testing 10% of lifters and now test lifters with the highest coefficient. N.A.S.A. is the only federation that has a current and updated Top 100 Bench Press, Powerlifting and Power Sports ranking.  Since 1990, N.A.S.A. is the only federation to honor lifters every year with the Athletes of the Year Award Ceremony and Banquet in OK.  N.A.S.A. started the Youth Development Program to attract younger lifters to the sport of Powerlifting. The Natural Athlete Strength Association, for the purpose of maturing young athlete’s mental and physical abilities, is developing this program. Our young competitors will be limited by the amount of weight they can attempt in each lift. They will be judged by their form and abilities combined. We will be using a unique set of judging lights that will indicate the quality of each lift that is attempted.  N.A.S.A. is the first to offer lifters Gold Cards. A Gold Card or a Mini Gold Card is a Punch Card that allows the owner to enter 10 Divisions or 5 Divisions in whatever meet(s) he or she desires, State, Regional, National or World Cup. Gold Cards are non-expiring and the Entries last as long as you like. Seven years ago, the President started the Power Sports.  Several federations have included curl events in Powerlifting competition because of N.A.S.A.   Power Sports is curl, bench press, and deadlift for a total (full meet) with the squat, bench press, deadlift and curl for single lift events.  No equipment allowed except a 4-inch belt and singlet.
